Are you ready to join our big WRR Family & Adopt a dog of your own?

OUR GOAL IS TO PLACE HOMELESS DOGS INTO LOVING HOMES AND FAMILIES

We take special care to match the right home with the right dog, ensuring a lifetime of love for both the pet and the adopter. To ensure the best matches are made, we have a process that may seem time-consuming or unnecessarily complicated, but please understand that we have our dogs’ best interests at heart. Not only do we strive to find the best homes possible for our dogs, but we want to find the right dog for the applicant and their lifestyle.

The Steps

1

Get In Touch

MESSAGE US ON FACEBOOK OR SEND AN EMAIL TO GET STARTED WITH THE ADOPTION PROCESS. LET US KNOW WHAT YOU'RE LOOKING FOR OR WHO YOU MIGHT BE INTERESTED IN MEETING.

2

Submit Application

The first step is to fill out an adoption application. The application tells us about the applicant and their lifestyle, training beliefs, and background with animals.

3

Conversation

WE WILL REVIEW YOUR APPLICATION AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE, LET YOU KNOW YOUR APPROVAL STATUS & DISCUSS POTENTIAL MATCHES FURTHER WITH YOU.

4

Schedule Meet & Greet

Once an applicant has been approved, we will contact them about scheduling a time to meet the dog(s) they are interested in. This meeting may occur at the applicant’s home, at the dog's foster or here at the rescue.

5

Adopt

IF IT'S A GOOD MATCH, WE WILL COMPLETE THE ADOPTION PROCESS, WHICH INCLUDES PAYING THE ADOPTION FEE & SIGNING OUR CONTRACT. THIS CAN BE DONE THE SAME DAY AS YOUR VISIT, OF COURSE!

Welcome Home

It's time to get your fur baby home and settled in! Make sure you have a leash, crate, food & bowls, and toys ready to go. Remember-if you need ANYTHING or have questions/concerns..reach out! We are here to help. Welcome to the WRR family!!

Prepare for Success: Before Bringing Your New Dog Home

Before bringing your new dog home, be mindful of the following details to make your home as calming and safe as possible.

  • Set up bedding in a crate or corner so your dog will have a cozy, safe place to retreat and relax.

  • Choose a designated area for food and water bowls.

  • “Dog proof” by installing gates to keep them out of unsafe areas of the home.

  • Toys can be a great way to provide entertainment and keep those minds busy. Pick out a variety of toy types so that your new pet will have options to pick his favorite. Bones, interactive toys and puzzle feeders are some favorites! These can be great to occupy time and provide some mental and physical exercise.

Our goal is to provide our adopters with all the resources they need to be successful with their new partner. We LOVE what we do and take joy in keeping up with our WRR Family. Please feel free to ask many questions and reach out at any time. We may not respond immediately, but our critter's best interest is at heart and we will be glad to answer your questions and assist you.

MOST IMPORTANTLY:

*Adopted WRR dogs CANNOT BE RESOLD For Any Reason*

This is to ensure their safety and to secure their futures. We often rescue them from awful situations, in the worst of health and conditions. Our promise to them is that they will never end up back in the wrong hands, tossed from place to place, running the streets homeless, or missing meals ever again. We are their second chance in life and we refuse to let them go through unnecessary pain ever again.

We are not here to judge. We get it! Life happens. If you think you have the craziest story for why you can't keep your dog, don't worry- we've probably heard crazier! If you're going through big changes, financial hardships, divorce, health related issues, or otherwise and cannot keep your WRR dog for whatever reason it may be, they are ALWAYS welcome back here and cannot be resold, rehomed or given away, per our legally binding contract.
